Ung Nordisk Musik (UNM) is a festival of contemporary music and sound art that is organised in turn by each Nordic country. UNM was established in 1946, making it one of the oldest festivals of its kind in the world. The works presented at the festival are created by composers and sound artists, mostly under 30 years old, who are based in the Nordic countries. The festival has no central artistic curator. Each country has an independent jury that selects the works. The result is a varied insight into the current Nordic art music scene. This year the festival will be held in in Tampere, Finland. The festival theme is ”Music Ecology”.
Two of Tampere Biennale 2.0 concerts will also be part of the program.
