Trip Hazards

I have studied with Simon Steen Andersen and Niels Rønsholt at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus where I finished my bachelor in composition last summer. Besides composing music in the classical tradition I also write music for various bands in which I play myself. I play the electric bass and guitar equally well and in recent years I have also started playing percussion.

Five years ago around the time I started studying classical composition I was introduced to the traditional music of West Africa, which has been a big inspiration for me ever since. I traveled to Ghana two times in 2012 and 2014, and I hope to be able to go back again very soon.

I participated in UNM in 2012 (Reykjavík) and 2014 (Malmö). I have been a member of the Danish Composer Society since 2013. From August 2015 I will be studying composition at the academy in Copenhagen.

Trip Hazards is written for alto saxophone, trombone and cello. It was composed in 2011 and revised in 2012. It is the first of my classical pieces that I still like to listen to today.
