Tampere Cappella is a freelance professional choral ensemble founded in 2015. During the last two years Tampere Cappella has been especially recognized for its versatility. The choir meets the demands of modern and historical choral repertoire and is even able to adjust to theatre productions when needed.

Markus Yli-Jokipii is known as an energetic and cooperative choral and orchestral conductor and educator. Since 2012, he has been employed by Tampere University of Applied Sciences as Senior Lecturer of Choral Conducting. Besides teaching Choral and Orchestral Conducting and holding courses in History of Music, his own conducting repertoire stretches from choral music to opera, symphony repertoire and early music and occasionally even popular music.

Yli-Jokipii holds the degree of Master of Music from Sibelius Academy and the degree of Master of Philosophy from the University of Turku with Musicology as his main subject. He has been awarded with the title of Choral Conductor of the Year in 2017 by the Association of Finnish Choral Conductors and with the Aboa-prize in 2009.
