ARTIST RESIDENCY

As part of the 2026 UNM Festival, UNM Denmark is organizing a residency program in collaboration with the Danish ensemble NEKO3. One participant will be selected from each country, meaning one participant will be selected to represent Finland at the residency. The works created during the residency will be performed as part of the UNM festival held in Copenhagen, Denmark, from August 10th to 15th, 2026. Accommodation and travel costs for the residency participants will be covered. The Danish UNM committee is responsible for organizing and producing the residency.

The residency will take place from May 26th to 30th, 2026, in Copenhagen.

Participants will work closely with the ensemble and mentors Jeppe Just Christensen and Søs Gunver Ryberg. The works created during the residency will be presented as part of the festival program on August 10th–15th, 2026.

The ensemble-in-residence is NEKO3, a Copenhagen-based experimental trio consisting of pianist/performer Fei Nie and percussionists/performers Lorenzo Colombo and Kalle Hakosalo.

Please read the application instructions carefully before applying.

THEME

For the 80th anniversary year we have chosen the theme ARCHIVE, with a festival focusing on the past and future of UNM by showcasing your favourite works from your compositional archive. During the festival year in 2026 we aim to be able to accommodate dramaturgical works. For this we will co-produce the works with Scenatet Ensemble.
