Maija Anttila (b. 1988) is a Finnish musician living in Amsterdam. As a performer Anttila focuses in contemporary music, with the clarinet/bass clarinet and live-electronics as her tools. Maija has premiered numerous solo, chamber and orchestral works and continuously collaborates with composers of new music. Maija is also active in the free improvisation and progressive punk scenes. Alongside her solo projects Maija belongs to the ranks of Tampering Ensemble, and performs together with Trio Trecolor and Barmy FiveseveN. Maija graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in music from Tampere Music Academy in 2015 as well as from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in 2018. Maija’s artistic work, studies and commissions from composers have been supported by the Finnish Cultural Foundation, MES, Arts Promotion Centre Finland and the Finnish Composers’ Society Sibelius Fund.
